James joined the WRA as technical advisor in April 2023 and is currently supporting the WRA’s work on biomass advocacy, MP engagement and net zero.

James has many years’ experience carrying out research, analysis and consultancy for the energy and fuel industry, starting his career as a graduate trainee at the Coal Research Establishment (CRE) of British Coal. He has since worked across the board, from analytical and test laboratories to advising on strategic energy policy.

He is currently Technical Manager for the Stove Industry Association (SIA), the trade body for the UK stove industry.
