Equipment manufacturer Liebherr has developed a comprehensive portfolio of equipment to meet the requirements of the wood recycling industry.
The company, which is a service member of the Wood Recyclers’ Association, supports the sector with wheel loaders, telescopic handlers and material handers as well as a range of attachments – all tailored to customers’ specific needs.
Timberpak is one company that relies on its Liebherr fleet. A subsidiary of global manufacturer Egger, it collects and processes the virgin timber and waste wood that are the raw materials for its parent company’s chipboard manufacturing plant at Hexham in Northumberland, one of the most advanced in Europe.
Timberpak runs three sites in England and one in Scotland, all with Liebherrs on the front line. Recent investment has included three fuel-efficient XPower L 580 wheeled loaders – one each for its operations in Leeds, Washington in north-east England and Bellshill in Scotland – and the latest arrival is an L 550 to help cope with increasing volumes at Washington, where it joins a pair of LH 24 handlers.
Safety is high on the specification list so the 580s are equipped with 360-degree cameras to give operators all-round visibility and a battery of LED lighting on each machine allows the customer to operate with maximum uptime.
Fuel efficiency and manufacturer back-up are other crucial elements in Timberpak’s buying process and the Liebherr machines have the ability to meet required production volumes and fuel efficiency.
