Elizabeth Green

Development Manager, Community Wood Recycling

Elizabeth has been a member of the team at Community Wood Recycling (CWR) since 2010. CWR is a nationwide network of 27 social enterprises and has been a pioneer of the large-scale reuse of waste wood, particularly from the construction industry, since 1998. The network provides commercial waste wood collection services, sorting the material for reuse and selling reclaimed timber and products within local communities, while creating life-changing opportunities for marginalised people.

After joining CWR as a volunteer, in 2013 Elizabeth became a Client Account Manager with responsibility for a range of construction industry clients. She is now part of the senior leadership team and as Development Manager covers a wide range of responsibilities including marketing, supporting the network’s members as they develop their businesses, helping new members of the network to set up and regulatory matters.

Elizabeth has a strong belief in the value of wood as a resource throughout its life cycle. She also has a particular interest in the social value that can be created by the wood recycling sector.

When not at work Elizabeth is part of the team that set up her local library of things and repair café, where she can be found serving her home-made cakes.

Elizabeth was elected to the WRA board in March 2025.
