Richard has a strong background in the forestry and waste sector, with 25 years of procurement experience in both the panel board and biomass industries, and is a member of The Chartered Institute of Purchasing.

After five years in retail, he first moved into the wood-fibre sector in 2000. He spent 11 years at Kronospan purchasing raw materials for panel board production before moving to RWE in 2012, where he is currently Biomass & Oil Procurement Manager.

During his time in the panel board and biomass markets Richard has acquired a detailed knowledge of the waste wood, sawmill and forestry industries.

Richard has been on the Board of the WRA for twelve years, during which he was Deputy Chair for three years and Chair from 2021 to 2025.

He remains positive, to drive the best policy outcomes to maximise what our sector can deliver.
