Dorset organic recycling and renewable energy Eco Sustainable Solutions prevented over 120,000 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide from entering the atmosphere by diverting waste from landfill in 2025, its 30th year of trading.
Eco began life as a small green waste composting operation with two people and a pitchfork and has grown to a business employing 53 and an annual turnover in excess of £20 million.
In its latest annual Sustainability Report, Parley-based Eco reveals it recycled/reprocessed in 2025:
- 56,777 tonnes of green waste
- 33,942 tonnes of food waste
- 57,686 tonnes of wood waste
- 52,363 tonnes of excavated soils
- 20,307 tonnes of street sweepings
The company’s renewable energy produced enough green electricity to power the equivalent of 5,718 homes.
Highlights during the year included commissioning a second anaerobic digestion plant and helping five charities raise a record £70,000 through the annual Christmas tree recycling initiative and donating £30,000 for solar panels and battery storage at West Parley Community Hub.

Eco recycles green, wood, sweepings and food waste for both BCP Council and Dorset Council among many other contracts.
It has sites at Parley, Piddlehinton and Weymouth in Dorset.
