Snowflake equine bedding, which is manufactured by WRA recycling member Plevin, has increased its manufacturing capacity by 50% with the installation of a new baler at its Manchester-based headquarters.

Plevin has invested £350,000 in a new baling facility, which means the company can now manufacture its Snowflake bedding range from its Mossley site in Ashton-Under-Lyne.

The Snowflake range includes Snowflake Supreme – a premium quality soft wood shaving; Snowflake Standard – a softwood shavings and soft wood chip blend; Snowflake Soft Chip – dust-extracted soft wood chips, and Snowflake Soft Chip Plus – soft wood chip and premium shavings blend. All the beddings are de-dusted to the highest consistent quality standard.

Jamie Plevin, Managing Director of Plevin Products and a member of the WRA Board, said: “By increasing our capacity and installing a new baler in Manchester, we’re now able to serve even more stockists with our range, especially in the North West.”

Snowflake has been manufacturing equine bedding for over 50 years. As well as its range of shavings and wood chip, it also manufactures Soft Wood Pellets for horses which are highly absorbent and excellent for odour suppression.
