Seras’ biomass fuel production facility at Tilbury Green Power has achieved three globally recognised management system certifications.
The Tilbury processing plant has been awarded ISO 9001, ISO 14001and ISO 45001 accreditations. The international systems standards are relating to quality management, environmental management and occupational health and safety management.
The accreditations were supported by the recent £2.3 million upgrade to the Tilbury facility. The refurbishment, which incorporated HAAS Recycling-Systems technology, has enhanced the plant’s safety, efficiency and fuel quality, Seras explained.
Seras provides Tilbury Green Power, one of the UK’s largest biomass power plants, with an exclusive supply of 300k tonnes of fuel every year.
Jon Miers, Head of Risk and Compliance at Seras, said: “This is a fantastic achievement which has resulted from a dedicated team effort. The accreditation reflects our commitment to adhering to the highest industry standards of operations and services, proactive risk management and continuous improvement in Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality practices.”
Seras, formally known as Esken Renewables, is now working towards gaining ISO certifications at other sites, starting with its head office at Widnes.
