WRA Chair Andy Hill is today giving a presentation in Le Havre, France about the UK’s waste wood market and the challenges it is facing.
Andy was invited by the the Comité Interprofessionnel du Bois-Energie (CIBE – Interprofessional Wood-Energy Committee) to update its members on the wood sector in the UK. His presentation will give an overview of the UK and European waste wood market, a look at biomass in the UK and regulatory developments in the UK including Fire Prevention Plans and waste wood classification.
The CIBE is a non-profit group set up in 2006, which brings together businesses involved in collective and industrial heating systems based on wood including combined heat and power production, in homes, the service sector, heating networks and manufacturing companies.
Andy said: “The WRA is keen to forge and maintain relationships with our colleagues in Europe as we see it as a strength to be able to understand each other’s markets and share information on how we do things in our respective countries. I’m delighted to have been invited to take part in this meeting.”
