WRA Deputy Chair Andy Hill and Executive Director Julia Turner were delighted to be in Stockholm last week (September 28) at the European Waste Wood Group Conference to hear updates on the German, Swedish and French waste wood markets.
Speakers at the event included Simon Obert from the German wood recycling association, BAV, and Panu Ärölä, from WRA member BMH Technology Oy.
The event at the Radisson Blu Strand Hotel in Nybrokajen provided an opportunity to network with wood recyclers from across Europe and to share experience, with the main messages focusing on increasing demand and reducing waste wood supply. Attendees also reported increasing prices for waste wood with less difference between the price paid for low and high grade material.
Since 2017, the WRA has been in a reciprocal partnership with conference organiser BAV which sees the two organisations sharing valuable knowledge and information.
Julia said: “It was very interesting to hear all the latest updates on the waste wood markets in Germany, France and Sweden and to network with our European colleagues. As always, the conference was very valuable and we hope to attend many more.”
