Vicki Hughes has worked in the waste and recycling sector for over 20 years and has over 35 years’ experience in sales, marketing and business development.

After working at a senior level at both Hadfield Wood Recyclers and Enva, she decided to return to her consultancy McPhee Associates where she now balances work commitments with volunteering on projects within the industry she loves.

Vicki continues to enhance the overall business proposition of those she works with, whether that is through technical competence & compliance, people development or sales & digital marketing.

Throughout her career she has championed diversity and the opportunities within the recycling sector. She is a passionate ambassador for sustainability and believes firmly that communication and networking allow for knowledge and development.

In 2022 she became the first women to join the Board of the Wood Recyclers’ Association and was named on the first Women in Trade Associations Outstanding Member Contribution List in March 2024.

After joining the CIWM Board of Trustees in 2019 and playing an important role in the continued development of the institution, she was appointed Junior Vice President of CIWM in June 2024 and became Senior Vice President in 2025.
