Richard Jenkins is Deputy Chair of the Wood Recyclers’ Association.

Richard has over 20 years’ experience in the waste sector and has been Chief Executive Officer of Seras UK (formerly Esken Renewables) since June 2020.

Seras is a leading biomass fuel supplier, converting around 1.2 million tonnes per year of waste wood into fuel to generate renewable energy.

As CEO, a key focus for Richard has been developing relationships with stakeholders, building on the company’s core business and developing and implementing Seras’ growth strategy.

Richard started his career with Viridor in 1999 in the business development team, transitioning in 2010 to the operational team as South West Regional Director, and in 2013 he was parachuted into the north region as Regional Director.

In 2019 Richard moved with the Greater Manchester contract to Suez, before making the move to Esken Renewables (now Seras) a year later.

Richard was elected to the WRA Board in March 2022 and was appointed Deputy Chair in March 2025.
